The Front Room is a safe, welcoming, 24-hour, year-round resource centre, providing support and referrals to community members. Regularly serving over 200 people daily, The Front Room staff are available to coordinate programming, provide men and women with individual case management, referral services, and aid in overcoming personal barriers, such as income, addictions, and mental health conditions.
On site are free, 24-hour laundry and shower facilities, hygiene supplies, public phone access, coffee and daily meals through the Bread4Life Program. The Front Room also hosts vocational and educational workshops with topics on: Life Skills, Tenancy Rights, Addictions, Mental Health, Personal Health, etc. Periodically, there are pro-social activities such as bingo, karaoke, hair cuts, group games, movie nights, etc.
The Front Room regularly welcomes presentations from workers and/or representatives with community agencies who are interested in offering group or individual support. The Front Room relies heavily on the generous donations of new clothing, shoes, and hygiene supplies collected through community organizations and individuals.
